leave word here if you have something to say that doesn't fit with a specific entry, or if you want to just say hi or introduce yourself. comments are screened, anonymous is acceptable and expected if you aren't an lj user.

the backdate, for the curious, is the day i arrived in Seattle.

Cool user name you have. It seems we intersect on both SIFF and gaming, but I can't quite place who you are.

Also, how do you do this "greetings" page? Such a thing would be handy on my journal too.

i found you via your post on the Fool Serious list. useful reviewing! if you want to say hi at a screening, i'm the redhead with the green coat and the Writer's Weekend bag. (we may have crossed paths before, but this is my first year with a Full Series pass.)

the "sticky post" is a feature of certain layout choices. i think it's available in all of the Expressive layouts. (changing your layout can be done here.)
you can also fake it in any layout by doing a post dated far in the future, but it's less elegant.
from there i just created a backdated post to link.

Hello,

I just noticed this feature on your journal. It's pretty cool. I know I'd never figure out how to do this on mine. Anyway I just wanted to tell you that I found your journal through Steve's journal and I friended you when I saw you were blogging about SIFF. (I'm a full series pass holder, too.)

Anyway, I enjoy reading your journal. It's well written. Are you a writer? The description of yourself you gave Steve sounds so familiar to me. Were you at SIFF Cinema on Friday for the Film Noir series? I was there and I'm wondering if I saw you....

this feature is an option with all "expressive" layouts. it's called "sticky post." it's really handy. i've used it for everything from meeting new people to making arrangements to get a free tv delivered.

thanks for the compliment. i'm a professional tech writer, but it's a relatively recent career change and i still don't quite think of myself as "writer". (this state is helped by my husband and many friends who write fiction, which i don't do.)

no, we thought about going but skipped it at the last minute. i'm pretty sure that we've been at some of the same screenings during the festival. i usually had my nose in a book between films :)
